The anti-hair loss and hair regrowth battle: Minoxidil, Nanoxidil, Procapil and Aminexil
We’ve compiled a list of data and information on these ingredients including: price, comparison, review and side effects.
As one of our customers asked us why should they use ’24’ serum with Procapil complex when there are already plenty of products out there with Minoxidil, Aminexil and the more newly Nanoxidil.
Well indeed, when it comes to hair loss treatments and products that stimulate hair growth, there are four ingredients and complexes of ingredients that are most commonly used: Minoxidil, Aminexil, Nanoxidil and Procapil.
Out of these four Minoxidil is perhaps the most well known. It is at origin an antihypertensive vasodilator medication. Applied topically, is widely used for the treatment of hair loss. This ingredient promotes hair growth in both men and women with androgenic alopecia.
Out of the four it also has the highest number of possible side effects: from common ones like burning or irritation of the eye; itching; redness or irritation at the treated area; unwanted hair growth elsewhere on the body, to severe ones like severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching). It also treats mostly only the vertex area. Despite these data, there are many who have had good results using it. So we can say that it’s worth trying.
Minoxidil VS Nanoxidil
When it comes to Nanoxidil, as it is still a new product there isn’t much information yet on the long-term side effects, or about its efficacy. Nanoxidil was developed upon Minoxidil. The difference is at molecule level.
The agent Nanoxidil, which is responsible for opening the ion channels, has a larger molecular weight than Minoxidil. It is set to open ions channels within cells and it claims to exert multiple mechanisms of action to address over a dozen triggers that lead to hair fall out.
However, being developed upon Minoxidil, same side effects are expected to occur as with the use of Minoxidil. However it seems the side effects of Nanoxidil should occur even less frequently compared to when you use Minoxidil and when it comes to Nanoxidil it treats not only the vertex area, but also the hairline.
Nanoxidil VS Procapil™
Procapil™ is a breakthrough formula that strengths hair and prevents hair loss naturally. Procapil™ is a combination of three natural ingredients to increase hair anchoring: (biotinyl tripeptide-1) vitaminated matrikine with apigenin and oleanolic acid from olive tree leaves. This complex of ingredients that can be fount also in ’24’ serum from Rekze Laboratories fights the ageing process of the follicles, to prevent hair loss.
Procapil™ targets the main causes of alopecia: poor scalp microcirculation, follicle ageing and follicle atrophy caused by dihydrotestosterone, a chemical derivative of testosterone, which plays a major role in hair loss in men and women. The best thing about Procapil™ is that it has no proven long or short-term side effects and no lingering chemical smell and it’s best to treat the entire scalp, not only the vertex area.
Minoxidil VS Aminexil
Aminexil is an ingredient found in some topical hair loss products, but none of which have been proven or licensed for the treatment or prevention of hair loss. Aminexil is set to work in a similar way to the proven hair loss treatment Minoxidil.
However, when used in hair care products, Aminexil is often mixed with minoxidil. Although there is no proof it isn’t effective, being used in addition to minoxidil raises the possibility that it’s likely to be the Minoxidil that helps and not the aminexil. A good thing about it is that the only known possible side effect is itching.

I want to swicht to nanoxidal after using minoxidal, will this promote some hair falliing since I swicht product or since I am not stopping using the product (same family nano or minox ) going from one to an other nd staying with nanoxidal should protect me from shedding
What do yu suggest my friend . I have really bad thining hair, not bakd but real thinned out. Hiw shoukd i approach my situation from the start??
All of these products when used alone do almost nothing, combining all is key as there is no cure yet,the best thing is to attack it from all angles and avoid alcohol and PPG products and use minoxidil solutions that are in liposomal or nanosomal form,so 1% alchohol.
Doing this gets results.
